That didn’t last long! I’ve moved blog stack again!
I’ve moved from Jekyll to Wintersmith for a number of reasons, specifically:
Uses node.js; I’m far more proficient in node than I am in Ruby. While I loved the vast amount of frameworks and possibilities with Ruby, it just didn’t suit my workflow.
No more Markdown hacks; Getting everything built in Jekyll while on a Windows machine was a pain and introduced work arounds within posts. These are gone and the whole site can be built from scratch in minutes on any environment.
Fewer features; I don’t want a lot of hassle configuring features I don’t need. I just want to be able to write in markdown in a text editor without having to think about if the pre-processor will be happy with it.
For me, Wintersmith delivers.
